Large bore cylinder, on cylinder retract stroke, rod end of piston pushes almost twice as much flow from cylinder base end. If jaw opening (cylinder retract) mode flow is set at 70GPM, 140GPM is pushed back to the carrier via main control valve spool. This results in high pressure drop and heat generation.
BSS20B is solenoid operated high capacity shut-off valve ; normally closed. When coil is energized, flow is allowed from port 1 to port 2.
On jaw closing mode, normal bi-directional mode, cylinder base is connected to machine’s main control valve. However, during jaw opening mode, valve opens and fluid from cylinder base will be dumped directly to tank. This reduces pressure drop and heat significantly.
